Darin will be performing in Japan with Chris Corsano and Jim O'Rourke this month. See details at the here.Out now is Oyobare/Tetrodotoxin and Explosion two seperate CDs from Jim O'Rourke (electric guitar) and Japanese jazz legend Akira Sakata (alto sax, clarinet, percussion, voice). Darin, Chris Corsano (drums), Manabu Sakata (drums, electronics) and Masaki Yoshimi (tabla) bring the rhythm section. The group performed two shows April '05 at The Pit Inn in Tokyo. Making good on plans hatched at BloomingtonFest 2002, Darin and Daniel Smith got together to make some music. Darin added bass to Danielson's "Dry Goods Dry Power" b/w "Left-handed Smoke Shifter" 7-inch (Sounds Familyre). Edith Frost gets in the mix as well. Steve Alibini laid it all to tape in Chicago. Darin and Glenn Kotche -- aka On Fillmore -- have recently finished the soundtrack to NYC filmmaker J.T. Petty's disturbing and haunting documentary S&Man. Their third albu, Sleeps with Fishes is still out on Quakebasket. Grand Ulena is still holed up writing and writing and writing. All is mysterious here though lives shows are happening again.
